Best for

  • Students and researchers who want one workspace for topic mapping, literature review tracking and drafting with citations.
  • People who want paid-plan limits spelled out in credits and PDFs before they commit.

Not a fit if

  • You want a long-established tool with a long public track record. This is a newer product, and this page cites no independent reviews.
  • You only need a quick answer to a yes/no question. A lighter search tool may be simpler.
  • You need to know how credits translate into real usage. The page lists credit numbers, but real consumption per task is not verified.

ResearchCollab presents itself as an AI research agent. According to its homepage, you enter a research question and it builds a topic map, supports literature review tracking (including inclusion and exclusion criteria and PRISMA flow diagrams), links claims to source paragraphs, and drafts outlined sections with citations.

It targets undergraduates, postgraduates, researchers and teams. Compared with a pure search tool, it tries to cover more of the workflow; compared with a long-established product, it has a much shorter history. For where it sits among alternatives, read the literature review guide, and for how its Free plan compares with others, the free plans comparison.

The three paid plans are priced per month, billed monthly. The page offers a yearly option, but we did not read the yearly prices, so none are shown. Everything on this page comes from the vendor’s own pages. Nobody has run the tool in real work for this profile.

What looks good

  • Pricing page lists plans, credits and PDFs, a 30-day money-back policy on paid plans, and prices for students and academics on the sign-up page.
  • The homepage describes a topic map, literature review tools with PRISMA flow diagrams, an evidence tracker that links claims to source paragraphs, a research agent, a knowledge bank and a virtual peer review.
  • A Free plan with no card required.

Limits and open questions

  • Credit-based limits make cost hard to predict until you try it on your own work.
  • The annual price is not verified, and the page gives two different annual saving figures (up to 25% and 20%).
  • The "460 million+ papers" figure is a vendor claim that we have not tested.
  • A newer product with a shorter public history. This page cites no independent reviews, so outside evidence about reliability is thin.
  • The claim that every statement links to its source paragraph is the vendor's description; check each link yourself.

Hands-on testing

Not yet done. Nobody here has run this tool in real work, so this page is based on the vendor's published pages only, listed under Sources. Notes will be added if that changes.

Is there a refund?

The pricing page states a 30-day money-back policy on paid plans. Read the full terms on the vendor's site before paying.
